Since the commencement of its operations in the year 1988, the Oil & Gas Unit has achieved remarkable growth over the years and has the capacity to execute large Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects in the Oil and Gas sector. This Unit has executed projects related to production and processing facilities in the Oil & Gas sector. Successfully completed both On-plot and Off-plot Service Contracts, encompassing Design, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Coating Services. Well experienced in: cross-country oil and gas pipelines and flow lines of various materials like carbon steel, stainless steel, GRE, PE Lined and coated pipes and GRP pipes etc. Erection & commissioning of static and rotary equipments; construction of Oil storage tanks, gathering stations, corrosion protection, Chemical injection and water injection projects; control and automation systems, electrical power generation and distribution, 132kV/66kV/33kV/11kV Over Head Lines etc.
The Unit has a full-pledged design cell for facilitating the execution of EPC projects. A dedicated design office employing well qualified and motivated engineers, caters to the needs of EPC projects. The design office has the capability to design in all fields of O&G engineering such as on-plot and off-plot facilities, process, electrical, instrumentation and pipelines including PE lining for pipelines, using the latest software and techniques. It has executed so far 10 different types of service contracts including four CMEI/ DCMEI service contracts. Currently the unit is executing projects to the tune of US $ 1555 millions including US$ 910 million integrated Off-Plot Delivery service contract for North –Oman facilities. Other projects include Marmul A Station upgrade, Compressor Station at Nimr, Site Construction Services at Wadi Musallim, Qarn Alam Steam, 150 Km Hubara-Saih Rawl 132 kV Over Head Line etc.
Exclusive to O&G Unit, a Fabrication Facility at Nizwa (U & R Certified) is well established, serving as central hub to the needs of fabrication of pressure vessels, piping spools, pipe supports, structures, launcher – receivers, tanks, manifolds, SS and DSS fabrication including coating and calibration services. The facility is under modernization and augmentation process.
With 5800 employees and US $ 440 million turnover, this unit is the largest in the organisation.
