Omani contracting heavyweight Galfar has been awarded a $28.5m (OMR 11m) contract from energy company OQ Exploration and Production for the construction of pipelines at the firm’s concession areas.
According to a statement from Galfar, the development of the pipelines will range 120km across OQ’s site and the completion period of the works will end on 30 June 2021.
The move is part of the firm’s endeavors for obtainment of contracts in the oil and gas sector and to enhance its income.
Galfar’s chief executive officer, Hamoud Al Tobi, added that the award of the contract would be important in underpinning the company’s revenues and boost its project capabilities.
